Week of September 14

Sydney Ahmed - Field Hockey

Sydney was one of the leading scorers (4 goals) for the field hockey team in Friday's game against Meade. Not only does she always have a positive attitude, but she is always trying to learn more from the coaches feedback. She played a great game and we can always rely on her to be running the ball down the sideline, getting back on defense to stop the other team, and taking lots of shots to get as many goals as she can.

 

 

Week of September 20

Javi Flores - Soccer

Javi has been an important focal point of the attack, helping create and finish dangerous chances in an attack that was able to put in 6 goals across two games last week. He had 2 goals and 1 assist in the 4-0 win vs Sts. Peter & Paul and added an assist in the 2-2 draw at Glenelg.

Week of September 27

Jack Nebbia - Cross Country

In the first conference meet, Jack won his first varsity conference meet in impressive fashion by coming in nearly 30 seconds faster than the second place finisher. This performance helped AACS beat both Severn and St. Mary's. Jack is incredibly humble, hardworking, and primed to continue to do well this season.

CJ Summa - Field Hockey

CJ goes above and beyond in each game.  This past week, she totaled five goals.  CJ continues to be a core playmaker.  She is very skilled and works really hard to be an all-around team player.

 

Week of October 18

Malani Martin - Volleyball

Malani has been putting up impressive stat lines all season and last week was no exception. As the team swept both opponents last week, Malani totaled 18 kills, 15 digs, 2 blocks, 8 aces, and an excellent serve receive rating of 2.8. She is a leader on and off the court and has helped the team secure a top 3 seed in the IAAM A Conference playoffs next week.

   

Week of October 24

Elena Rogers - Soccer

Last week, Elena had two goals and two assists in the 5-0 win over St. John's Catholic Prep bringing her season totals to 13 goals and 6 assists.  This win helped the girls varsity soccer team secure a home game to start the playoffs.  Whether she scores herself or sets up one of her teammates to score, she is a playmaker on the field.

 

Week of October 31

Girls Varsity Volleyball Team

The varsity volleyball team made school history by competing in the first ever A Conference championship. After a resilient fight in the semifinal game over Mt. DeSales, the team was ready and confident going into the championship. A convincing first set win was followed by two extremely close sets that were won by Maryvale. With grit and resilience, the team was able to win the 4th set and take it to a 5th set tiebreaker. So much hard work was put in to get to the level they are at today. They played with unity and perseverance while glorifying and honoring God in the process.

 

Week of November 7

Caleb Terry - Soccer

Caleb had an impressive season as he controlled the ball, distributed well, and knew how to finish.  In double overtime of their quarterfinal game at Park, he made a perfectly timed run to score the game winning goal.  On the season, he totaled five goals and four assists and was an integral part of the team's success.

Week of December 6

Anthony Sheehan - Basketball

Anthony is a well rounded basketball player and it showed in his stat lines in boys varsity basketball games last week. He totalled 41 points, 20 rebounds and 6 assists for the week. In their game vs. Mt. St. Joe, he lit up behind the arc, hitting 5 of his 6 attempts.

Hayden Janes - Swimming

Hayden has been working really hard to prepare for the swim team's first conference meet.  His first place finish in the 500 freestyle took a tremendous amount of strength and endurance and helped secure the win against John Carroll.

 

Week of January 10

Carter Schofield - Basketball

In a close game with Curley last week, Carter scored a season and team high of 17 points including 5 clutch 3-pointers. He was locked in and demonstrated tremendous poise in knocking down big shots.

   

Week of January 31

Eli Croskey - Basketball

Eli is currently averaging over 20 points per game and played some incredible basketball in our three games last week.  He had 18 points at Gerstell, 15 points at Chapelgate, and led all scorers with 30 points in a big win over St. Paul's.

 

Week of February 7

Rachel Hutchins - Swimming

During Monday's IAAM Swimming Championships, Rachel earned gold medals in the 200 IM and the 100 breaststroke which broke school records in both events. She was also a part of the 3rd place 200 freestyle relay team which also broke a school record.

 

 

Week of February 14

Bella Taylor - Basketball

This week's Athletic Spotlight goes to Bella Taylor. Bella led the team in scoring in 8 of 18 games and was in the top two in another four games. She also led the team in minutes played, playing all 32 minutes in several games. She has a fighting spirit with a "no quit" attitude. She was a team captain and led by example through her hard work and play.

Week of February 21

Chris Muckle - Basketball

In the boys jv basketball team's last game of the season, Chris finished with 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals.  He scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half including two three pointers.  For the season, Chris finished second on the team in scoring.

 

Week of March 13

Ryan Jones - Baseball

Ryan had strong showings on offense and defense in the baseball team's two games last week.  Starting at shortstop, he had 6 of 6 putouts before closing out both games on the mound with 4 innings pitched and 3 strikeouts.  At the plate, he had an on base percentage of .375, had 3 RBIs, and a homerun.
 

Week of April 10

Sarah Billett - Softball

This week's Athletic Spotlight goes to Sarah Billett.  Over the last week, she has put together an impressive stat line.  As starting pitcher in one of the last three games, Sarah earned the win and struck out 11 batters while only allowing 2 runs.  She also totaled 11 RBIs, 1 double and 4 triples over three games.

 

Week of April 17

Jonathan Butler - Golf

As a freshman, Jonathan came into his high school career on a mission and landed the #1 spot on the team. In the past two matches, he scored 5.5 out of a possible 6 points to help give the golf team two important conference wins. He also shot an 84 at the MIAA Individual Tournament and qualified for the second day of the tournament in May.

Week of April 24

Skylar Sensenbrenner - Lacrosse

In the last three games, Skylar has totaled 25 goals (7 vs. Beth T'Filoh, 6 vs. Pallotti, and 12 vs. Catholic). She consistently finds a way to get the ball in the back of the net and has been a key factor in the success of the girls varsity lacrosse team this season.
