Week of September 12

Caleb Terry - Soccer

Three straight games of incredible work. His work-rate is second to none and he plays with a high level of intelligence and technical quality that equals his tenacity. Scored two excellent goals against Friends on Friday. Late in the game, he drew a foul, played a dangerous ball quickly, then went on a 50 yard sprint to score his second goal.

 

Week of September 19

CJ Summa - Field Hockey

An offensive spark to the Field Hockey team, CJ scored the lone the goal for AACS that lead to a tie against Glenelg. She then went on to have a hat trick and 2 assists in the 6-0 win over St. Timothy's. On the season, she has tallied 9 goals and 8 assists and has helped the team start conference play undefeated.

Week of September 27

Amanda Brookes - Volleyball

Performs at a high level whenever she is on the court. Playing both front and back rows, she gets more touches than almost everyone else and what really sets her apart is her consistency and court awareness. In the match against St. John's Catholic Prep, Amanda had a team high of seven kills out of 18 attempts with zero errors, a .389 hitting percentage!

 

Week of October 4

Kyle Halpern - Soccer

All season long, he has controlled the midfield and distributed the ball well to his teammates. He played exceptionally well in the team's game against Friends where he scored three goals. With 45 seconds left in the game, he placed a PK in the back of the net to secure the 3-2 win.

Week of October 18

Zahire Mike - Football

Plays on both sides of the ball and shines in every position he plays. In the Homecoming game against St. John's, he made 4 tackles on defense and had 150 yards rushing and a touchdown on offense to help the team win 13-7.

 

Week of October 24

Elena Rogers - Soccer

Plays at a high level and is consistently an offensive threat. She has a great eye for the ball and is able to set up her teammates to score or score herself. She scored three goals and had one assist in the win over Oldfields and had two goals in the 3-2 win over Mt. Carmel.

         

Week of November 1

Xavier Essex - Football

Had a great senior night performance against Severn on Saturday. Defensively, he helped the team by filling in at linebacker. Ran the offense and put up some impressive numbers at quarterback: 200 yards passing with two touchdowns as well as two rushing touchdowns.

 

Week of November 7

Maggie Conroy - Field Hockey

Had 2 goals and 1 assist in the last two games. At midfield, she has been instrumental on both the offensive side and hustles back time and time again to play solid defense. She does an excellent job at carrying the ball down the side of the field blowing by defenders. She is tough, extremely coachable, and a joy to have on the team!

Week of December 5

Elijah Croskey - Basketball

As a sophomore, he has really stepped up with consistent hard work and leadership on the boys varsity basketball team. In their first two games last week, he totaled 33 points, 11 assists, and 9 rebounds.

 

Week of December 12

Chris Muckle - Basketball

Has been a leading scorer in both games this season, averaging 15 points per game. In their game against Chapelgate, he was fouled on the go ahead 3 pointer and made the free throw to give them the lead and help secure the win.

Week of January 10

Rachel Hutchins - Swimming

Rachel shined in her first meet of the season.  She helped her relay team finish 2nd in the 200 medley and the 200 free.  She finished 1st in the 200 individual medley and 100 Fly.

 

Week of January 24

Darrell Phillips - Basketball

Darrell had an outstanding performance in the their win over Jemicy last week. He led the team in both scoring and rebounds with 19 points and 22 rebounds.

Week of January 31

Gabby Barnes - Basketball

Gabby is averaging 17 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals per game.  In our two games last week, she totaled 35 points (16 vs. Catholic and 19 vs. Indian Creek).  Her value goes beyond her stats though.  She is a servant leader.  She makes sure to teach and build up those around her.  Gabby truly encompasses everything a leader, senior, and captain should be.

   

Week of February 14

Andrew Tetteh - Basketball

Andrew was the high scorer for the boys jv basketball team last week with 28 total points. He was on fire from behind the arc, where he scored 18 points. He has been working hard all season and it is paying off. He is playing his best basketball as the season has progressed.

Week of March 14

Gavin Raspa - Lacrosse

Gavin is a humble leader whose hard work and dedication in the offseason paid off in their season opener.  He led the team in points with 2 goals and 5 assists.  He is unselfish, coachable, and has a great attitude.

 

Week of March 20

Spencer Shwetz - Golf

Spencer started the season strong by sweeping his opponent in both matches last week.  He shot a career low 41 on 9 holes and is ready to build off of that momentum this season.

Week of April 11

Bella Taylor - Softball

This player went 2-2 with a walk, run and 4 stolen bases as the Eagles won their conference opener 13-9 vs Park. In her first season as catcher, she has stepped up to the challenge in a big way by making great stops and decisions behind the plate.  

 

Week of April 25

Remy Walker - Tennis

In last week's match against Sts. Peter and Paul, Remy was moved up from #3 singles to #2 singles.  After splitting the first two sets, he found himself behind 3-4 in the 3rd set with the match tied at 2-2.  He went on to win three straight games in the 2 1/2 hour match to clinch the win.  The match was full of long points, often 20+ strokes per point.  His tenacity to run down every shot was the difference maker not only in his own match, but also in giving the team the overall win.

Week of May 2

Maya Whitney - Track and Field

During this past weekend's meet, Maya finished 1st in the 100m and 3rd in the 200m, both of which were personal records.  She was also the anchor of the 1st place 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams.  She has shown great dedication, resilience, and implements critiques in competition to improve.

   

Week of May 15

Milan Marshall - Track and Field

Milan won three medals during championships this past weekend: bronze in the 200m, gold in the 400m, and gold in the 4x100m relay.  She broke the school record in the 400m and her 4x100 relay team set a school record and an IAAM B Conference record.
