Week of March 21

Gabby Barnes - Basketball

Captain and servant leader of the girls basketball team who worked hard and sacrificed herself by putting the needs of the team first and hers second.  She led the team in scoring, averaging 14 points/game.  She also led the team in assists and was 3rd in rebounds.

Week of March 28

Leah Boardman, Rachel Hutchins, Ashby Irvin, and Paige Lovelace - Swimming

These 4 swimmers broke AACS Swim records in the 200 Medley Relay and 400 Free Relay. They also won 1st in the 400 Free Relay at the IAAM Championships. Rachel Hutchins also set AACS Swim records in the 200 Individual Medley, 100 Butterfly, and 100 Backstroke. 

Week of April 4

Andrew Fatusin - 3 Sport Athlete

Played both sides of the ball for Varsity Football and was named MIAA All-Conference.  Was the center for our JV Basketball team. Is the starting 1st baseman for Varsity Baseball with a .389 on base percentage. On March 22 with the game tied, he singled on a 1-0 count to bring in the game winning run over Severn.

Week of April 11

Shannon O'Ferrall - Softball

Captain and 4 year starter on the softball team. Starting catcher, back up pitcher, and bats 3rd in the lineup. Hit the first ever over the fence home run on April 11 on our new field on campus. Is a servant leader to our athletic program and was awarded a character coin by Friends School in April for her exceptional character during play.

Week of April 18

Olivia Hall and Jackson Dittrich - Tennis

#1 singles and captain Olivia and #2 singles Jackson have defeated their opponents in the last 4 matches to help the tennis team go on a 4 match win streak and are now 5-2 in the conference. Olivia and Jackson have swept each opponent in straight sets in those 4 matches with a game total of 48-15 for Olivia and 48-8 for Jackson.

Week of April 25

Maya Whitney - Track

A major contributor towards the success of the girls track team this season.  Is the anchor on the 4x100 and 4x200 relay teams.  Placed 2nd in the 100M and 1st in the 4x100 relay and 4x200 relay in their meet on Saturday.  Placed 1st in the 100M, 200M, 4x100 relay, and 4x200 relay in their meet on Wednesday.

Week of May 2

Caleb Gentry - Baseball

Captain and positive leader on the baseball team. Is the "field general" as the starting catcher, but has pitched and played outfield throughout the season as well. Bats second in the lineup and leads the team in batting average at .429, which is top 5 in the conference. Has been a consistent light this year and during his entire baseball career at AACS.

Week of May 9

Parrish Fleming - Lacrosse

A captain and vocal leader on the team. Is courageous and resilient as a goalie and has excellent positioning and reaction time. Has averaged 20 saves per game and is a rock that the team depends on. Sprinted the length of the field to take a shot on goal with seconds left in the quarter in a recent game.

Week of May 16

Madison Donelson - Track

Had a memorable day at the Track championshps. Won bronze and set the school record by 7 seconds in the 300m Hurdles. Set the school record in the High Jump. Won bronze and broke the school record by 7 seconds in the 4x400 relay. Was new to both High Jump and Hurdles, but put in the work to be successful.

Week of May 23

Tim Brophy - Golf

One of 75 golfers competing in the MIAA Individual Championships at Eagles Nest Country Club. Shot a 79 on Day 1 which made the cut to move on to Day 2. Was only one of four B Conference golfers to move on. Shot a career low of 75 on Day 2 which was one of the top 12 scores for the day. He finished the tournament top 20 overall.
