Duncan Signs With High Point University
Senior Shekinah Duncan has signed with High Point University in High Point, NC to run track.  Duncan has been a part of the track team since its start in the spring of 2018.  During that season, Duncan was a contributing part of the team championship at the MACA invitational meet.  Duncan's main events are the 100m, 200m, 4x200, and the 4x100.

High Point made Duncan feel welcomed and at home from just the first visit on campus.  She felt an instant connection to the school and knew this is where she wanted to spend her next four years.  She plans to study business administration while there.

"It's never too late to do something you want to pursue."  These words from the AACS track coaches pushed Duncan to the decision to run track in college. Track at AACS has prepared her for the demands that will come with college athletics.  Being a part of the track team has pushed her to always give her best and to never give up even in the midst of challenging times.  She learned what it means to be a leader and a true teammate.  AACS has also impacted her in the classroom.  It has taught her to manage a challenging course load and to never be afraid to ask for help.

Athletic Director, Josiah Wolf, said, "Shekinah has been an important part of our community, especially on our track team.  She has worked hard and continually pushed herself to get to where she is now.  She has a bright future ahead of her and I am excited to see the impact she will have on the High Point community."
