Cote Signs With Merrimack College

Senior Madison Cote has signed to run both cross country and track and field for Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts.  Cote has been a three-year varsity athlete on both the cross country and track teams at AACS along with four years of club ice hockey for the Washington Pride.  While at AACS, Cote has had an impressive cross country career including All-Conference honors, being named Athlete of the Month, receiving an IAAM Character Coin, and breaking the girls senior record for fastest 5k time.

While at Merrimack, Cote plans to study Applied Exercise Science in their honors college.  The location and school size was a big factor in Cote's decision to commit to Merrimack.  It will provide her the important community feel that she was looking for.

Challenging courses and developing her senior practicum has helped prepare her for the academics of college.  Numerous AACS community members have been a strong source of encouragement to her both academically and athletically.  AACS athletics has provided a Christ-centered community where coaches and teammates are truly invested in one another.

Athletic Director, Josiah Wolf, said, "What an opportunity for a student-athlete to continue competing in not just one, but two sports while in college.  Madison has been a source of encouragement and leadership in our community.  She continually shows great sportsmanship while competing.  She will be a great asset to the Merrimack community.
