Powers Signs With Palm Beach Atlantic University

Senior Emily Powers has signed with Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach, FL to run cross country and track.  Powers has been a four year varsity soccer player and has been a faithful member of the track team for the three years it has been a program at AACS.  After playing soccer for many years, she decided to give track a try and quickly loved the sport.  Sprinting and middle distance races have been her main focus while on the track team.

Palm Beach Atlantic was the perfect fit for Powers.  The scenic location, campus atmosphere, and foundational Christian education were key parts of the decision to commit to the school.  The track team immediately welcomed her and made her feel at home.  She plans to study communications while at Palm Beach Atlantic.

The challenging academics and spiritual guidance that AACS has provided has given Powers the tools she needs to be successful in college.  She has had the constant reminder to play "All for Him."  She was able to partner with many coaches and teammates who encouraged and pushed her to always work hard and have God at the center of it all.

Athletic Director, Josiah Wolf, said, "Emily works hard in everything she does.  She is a leader and gifted athlete.  I'm proud of her and what she has accomplished here at AACS.  I know she will do great things at Palm Beach Atlantic."

Head Coach, Madelyn Smith, said, "Emily is a great asset to our team. She consistently exemplifies hard work, leadership and a team spirit all with a constant smile."
