Wilson Signs With Hood College

Wilson Signs With Hood College

Senior Lindsay Wilson has signed with Hood College in Frederick, MD to play softball.  Wilson has been a four year varsity starter on the softball team and has played 3 years of volleyball, a year of basketball, and ran a year of cross country while in high school.  With 12 years of experience behind her, Wilson found her home on the mound as a pitcher, but also plays 1st base.  She has been named to the IAAM All-Conference team every year and was named 2nd Team All-County in her sophomore year.  She also received Athlete of the Month twice as well as the Team MVP and Silver Slugger award.

After her first visit to Hood College, she felt instantly at home.  She knew that Hood would be a great fit for her to grow in the classroom and on the softball field.  She liked the coach and the team and knew she could play her next four years of softball there.  While at Hood, she plans to study Biochemistry in preparation for medical school once she has graduated.

The rigorous coursework as AACS has prepared Wilson for the challenges of college academics.  With a Christ-centered education at AACS, she feels that she has the confidence and proper guidance to work well with other who share different beliefs.  She has maintained a high level of excellence in the classroom with a 4.38 GPA while also playing softball year round.  AACS has provided an opportunity for her to grow as a leader in the classroom and on the softball field.  AACS softball has been a great reminder of why she fell in love with the game at a young age.  She is able to share that love with her teammates and also be an asset to those new players on the team.

Head Coach, Josh Danza, said, "As a freshman, Lindsay came into the program and made an instant impact, proving to be one of the best players in the conference. Her Christian faith is demonstrated in her pursuit of excellence on the field and in the classroom. I look forward to watching her continue her career at the collegiate level. It has been a pleasure working with Lindsay over the past three years."

Athletic Director, Jim Domoracki, said, "Lindsay has been a rock for the softball program throughout her career. She's been a competitor, leader and a joy to watch. She will be a great asset to the Hood softball program."
