Track and Field Has Record Breaking Championship Meet

The AACS girls and boys varsity track and field team finished well at the league championship meet on Saturday, May 13.  The girls finished 7th out of 13 teams and the boys finished 3rd out of 11 teams.

Milan Marshall earned 1st in the 400m and 3rd in the 200m which both broke school records.  Trinity Dickens finished 4th in the 200m and 6th in the 400m.  Madison Diggs, Maya Whitney, Marshall, and Dickens were part of the 1st place 4x100 relay team  that broke the school record and the meet record while the 4x200 relay team of Jadyn Wynn, April Black, Diggs, and Whitney finished in 4th and also broke a school record.

Zahire Mike finished 1st in the 100m (school record) and 3rd in the 200m.  Eric Johnson took 3rd in both the 1600m and the 3200m in addition to 4th in the 800m.  Johnson was able to break the school record in both the 800m and 1600m.  Xavier Essex was 4th in the discus, throwing his personal best and breaking the school record.  4x100 relay team of Elijah Pierre, Elijah Croskey, Justin Hamilton, and Mike earned 1st place and set not only a school record, but the meet record as well.  4x200 (Jon Perry, Isaiah Hale, Mike, and Croskey) and 4x400 (Andrew Lambert, Perry, Hale, and Croskey) both finished in 2nd place.  Joey Schultz, Ryan Smith, Johnson, and Lambert rounded things out with a 3rd place finish in the 4x800 (school record).
