Boys Track Takes 2nd Place In MIAA Championships

In their inaugural year in the MIAA for outdoor track and field, the AACS boys varsity track team placed 2nd overall in the MIAA B Conference track championships on Saturday, May 11.  The team competed against 10 other schools during this event.

Tolu Balogun placed 1st in the 100M.  Balogun finished 3rd in the 200M dash.  Justin Alford finished 1st in the 110 hurdles, 300 hurdles, and the high jump.  Alford also broke MIAA meet records in all three events.  Zoe Igwacho took 1st in the long jump and the triple jump and also broke MIAA meet records in these two events.  Relay team of Kyng Cleveland, Perez Warner, Alford, and Balogun placed 1st in the 4x100M relay and broke the meet record for the event.  Cleveland finished 2nd and Cole Phillips finished 3rd in the long jump.  Jeremiah Taylor finished 3rd in the 400M dash.  Relay team of Luke Caton, Ethan Leonovich, Taylor, and Phillips earned a 2nd place finish in the 4x400M relay.
