Track Takes First Place At MACA Classic

The AACS boys and girls varsity track teams took first place in the MACA Classic on Thursday, April 19.  The teams competed with 10 other Maryland schools and took home 34 individual 1st-3rd place ribbons.  Junior Austin Johnson won the 300-meter hurdles.  He also placed in the top 9 in the open 800-meter dash.  Sophomore Emily Powers helped lead her 4x100 relay team to victory with a great start and also finished well on the 4x400.

The director of the meet stated, "Your athletes are amazing and display such wonderful character.  The way that they cheered each other on and others that were competing was amazing.  I can't believe you are a first-year team!"
