Track Team Finishes On High Note After First Meet

In its inaugural season, the AACS track team took some impressive finishes against a pool of talented IAAM and MIAA schools.  Junior Justin Alford took 1st place in the 100 and 200-meter dashes.  He also placed 2nd in the long jump.  The 4x100 boys relay team of Alford, Christian Gill, Reece Clark, and Tolu Balogun finished in 1st.  The 4x100 girls relay team of Amaya Gaskill, Emily Powers, Shekinah Duncan, and Anjola Layeni took 2nd place.  Sophomore Madison Cote finished 2nd place in the 800-meter dash and finished 4th in the 1600.  Junior Isa Crooks earned a top ten finish in the 800-meter dash.  Sophomore Anjola Layeni finished top 10 in the 100-meter dash.  Sophomore Hunter Steinau took 3rd place in the 800-meter dash.  Senior Adrian Henley took 2nd in both the shot put and the discus. 

The Eagles next meet will be on Thursday, April 19.
