AACS Has Sights Set On Championship

The AACS boys varsity lacrosse team defeated Key School 8-6 in the semifinal round of the MIAA C Conference playoffs on Tuesday, May 15.  Junior John Gage Collier and senior Jay Jenkins had 3 goals each.  Sophomore Ben Sturgell finished out the scoring with 2 goals.  Sturgell was also near perfect on faceoffs going 11/12.  Sophomore Anthony Coppola picked up 9 ground balls and added an assist.  Senior goalie Cole Vazquez made 14 saves.

Head Coach Bob Sturgell said, "Our defense really played well and shut them down in the 4th quarter to help secure the win."

The Eagles move on to the championship game where they will face the winner of Indian Creek and Beth Tfiloh.  The championship game will be played at Johnny Unitas Stadium on the campus of Towson University at 3:00 PM on Friday, May 18.  There will be a $12 admission fee for the game.
