Boys Lacrosse Wins Big Over Concordia Prep

In the season opener, the AACS boys varsity lacrosse team defeated Concordia Prep 19-3 on Thursday, March 15.  Junior John Gage Collier led all scorers with 7 goals and 1 assist.  Freshman Brian Hulsey added 2 goals and a team high 6 assists.  Sophomore Ben Sturgell chipped in with 3 goals and 3 assists.  Sturgell also had 7 ground balls.  Fellow sophomore Mason Fortlage had 2 goals and 3 assists.  Flynn McCann, Anthony Coppola, Ryan Idleman, Tyler Beck, and Kyle Coogan each scored 1 goal in the MIAA C Conference win.  Kyle Coogan picked up 8 ground balls.  In his debut start in goal, senior Cole Vazquez made 10 saves.

Head Coach Bob Sturgell said, "It was a great first game with a strong team effort.  I am very proud of the boys."

The Eagles are 1-0 in conference and will host Chapelgate on Tuesday, March 20.
