COACHING PHILOSOPHY

A verse that has driven me in my coaching is I Thessalonians 2:8:  So affectionately longing for you, we were pleased to impart to you not only the Gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you have become so dear to us.

Translation: my coaching is all about YOU. I will teach you many skills and strategies to succeed in the game of golf, but more importantly, I will teach you foundations to succeed in the game of life.  We will not only share the game together but our lives.  My commitment to you as a coach is to give you my best and to push you to reach your best. I will strive to lead you by example in word and action as we together seek to glorify God through this golf season.

There will be some team responsibilities we will adhere to. These responsibilities are to help develop you as a player and, more importantly, as a young man of God. These responsibilities are Biblically based and should help us become a strong team.

• You are to be a positive role model at the school and wherever we travel as a team.
• You are part of a team working closely together as one unit devoted to accomplishing a common goal.
• There is no “I” in “TEAM”. Be committed to do what is best for us, not you.

Responsibilities

• Give 100% at all times.
• Encourage and challenge yourself and your teammates.
• Respect authority.
• Control your temper and tongue.
• Use self control when it comes to what comes out of your mouth and to your reactions (body language) on the golf course and in life.
• Be responsible by being on time and properly equipped.
• Accept consequences for your actions.
