Seniors Aaron Celcis and RJ Forbes have signed to play basketball in college next year.
Celcis has signed with Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA. Seton Hill felt like the right fit and choice for him. It will be a provide a place to grow as player and as a student. While at Seton Hill, he plans to study business human resources.
As a sophomore transfer, Celcis spent three years on the varsity basketball team. He has been playing for over 10 years primarily as a forward, but has been working the wing as well. He has received numerous honors while in high school including All-Conference and All-County.
AACS has prepared Celcis for the demands of college classes and college basketball. He has learned to challenge himself and strive for excellence. His coaches have been a big factor in pushing him to be the best he can be.
Forbes has signed with Hampton University in Hampton, VA. He chose Hampton based on the beautiful location and the very welcoming community. There was such a family feel while there that RJ knew this is where he could really excel as a basketball player and as a young man. While at Hampton, he plans to follow his dreams of being an orthodonist and will study Biology in preparation for that.
Forbes came in as a junior to AACS. He was a varsity player for his two years at AACS where he played the shooting guard and small forward, but played in the post while growing up. He too has received multiple honors while playing at AACS. He was named to various All-Tournament teams, played in multiple All-Star games, and was named to the 2nd team All-County during his senior year.
AACS has given Forbes the tools he needs to excel in college. AACS has shown him it is ok to ask questions and it is ok to make mistakes. A big lesson learned was to never give up. He learned to dig deep no matter what. His coaches have taught him life lessons that will extend way past high school.
Head Coach, Doug Scheidt, said, "Aaron and RJ are both solid young men who have contributed well to our program. We are very proud of their accomplishments and that they both will have the opportunity to further their basketball career in college."
Athletic Director, Jim Domoracki, said, "Aaron and RJ have both worked hard to get the opportunity to play at the next level. I am excited for both of these young men and look forward to what their futures hold."
