February Athletes of the Month

Ani Gadson

Year: Junior

Sport: Basketball

Position: Guard

Ani was a key player in the team's fourth place finish in the IAAM regular season. After a 0-3 start in conference play, the team went on to win 7 of 8 conference games. As the point guard, she led the team in assists in almost every game. For the season she had 12 more assists than turnovers, quite a feat considering she was the team's primary ball handler.  She was the team's 3rd leading scorer, with a season high 16 points in a key win over St. Tim's. She turned in great games against St. Mary's with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists, St. Paul's with 15 points and 3 assists and Queen Anne's with 14 points and 6 assists. Ani was a top defender, taking 3 charges in the IAAM quarterfinal game.

"It is a joy to coach a player like Ani. She is tough, unselfish and not afraid of the big moment. She has been so steady for us over the past two seasons."

Jim Domoracki, Varsity Head Coach

Eddie Scott

Year: Senior

Sport: Basketball

Position: Guard

Eddie had an excellent season, helping the team to a third place finish in the MIAA A Conference 'Black' Division and a playoff bid in just the second season of the team being in the A Conference. The team finished with a 9-8 record in conference play, 14-11 overall.  Eddie averaged 12 points and 5 rebounds per game.  He was one of the most consistent players on both ends of the floor having big games against #1 Boys' Latin and #2 Mount Saint Joseph's.  Eddie never shies away from taking big shots during crunch time. He stays focused and never lets the pressure faze him.

"Eddie is one of our most consistent and reliable players. When we need calm and steady, we turn to Eddie. When others want to give up, Eddie always believes and pushes us as a team toward our goal. Always."

Doug Scheidt, Varsity Head Coach
