The AACS boys varsity basketball team defeated Old Mill 63-52 on Friday, December 28 in the championship game of the Severna Park Winter Jam. Mekhi Marshall hit a pivotal shot to end the third quarter to put the momentum back in the Eagles corner. He finished the game with 5 points, 3 steals, and 7 assists.
"I wasn't trying to force anything; I was looking to dish, but they collapsed on our three-point shooters, so I just shot the floater." said Marshall. "My job is to play defense, get assists and create opportunities for my team."
RJ Forbes led the team with 20 points (14 of which came in the first quarter). Aaron Celcis earned a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Forbes was also named to the All-Tournament team.
The Eagles improve to 10-1 overall and will face off at home against St. Frances on Friday, January 4.
