February Athletes of the Month
Year: Junior Sport: Basketball Position: Guard Eddie had a great month and was a key contributor in the team's season ending 82-68 win over Gilman in the Maryland Independent School Tournament championship game. Earlier in the season, he scored a team high 24 points against nationally ranked, MIAA champion, John Carroll. As the season progressed, Eddie became a force on both ends of the floor. His versatility allowed him to defend opponent's top players. For the season, Eddie averaged 12 points and 6 rebounds per game. "Eddie is the type of player coaches love to coach. Koi Sims Year: Freshman Sport: Basketball Position: Forward Koi averaged 10 points and 12 rebounds per game, with two double-doubles during the month of February, helping the team to a 19-6 record and a 3rd place finish in the IAAM regular season. She was the team's leading scorer and rebounder in the semi-final loss to eventual champions, IND. For the season, she averaged 11 points per game and a team high 9.1 rebounds. In December she broke the school record with 14 offensive rebounds in the game vs St. Paul's. Koi tallied seven double-doubles on the season. "Koi has been a joy to coach.
