White Signs With Lehigh University

Senior Sydney White has signed with Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA to play field hockey.  White has been a four-year varsity field hockey player along with two years of varsity lacrosse.  With ten years of field hockey experience, she has played almost every position on the field, but typically resides in the center midfield.  She has received All-Conference honors every year of high school.  She has also won various school awards including "The Rock" and twice as "Athlete of the Month".  To cap off her high school career, White was selected to play in the Maryland State Senior Field Hockey Game.

White chose Lehigh for various reasons.  She fell in love with the campus and the great academics that the college offers.  She felt immediately welcomed and apart of the field hockey tesam when first introduced.  While at Lehigh, she plans to study Biology with a minor in Forensics or Psychology.

AACS has played a large role in her preparation for college both academically and athletically.  The rigorous curriculum and grading at AACS has helped prepare her for intensity of college academics.  Athletically, she has learned the true meaning of playing for a much higher purpose; an audience of one.  There has been a sense of preparation and training during her four years at AACS.  She sees the next chapter in her life as a chance to minister and influence to a new group of people.  She feels confidence in her ability to take on this challenge because of the preparation received at AACS.

White said, "Over the past four years, God has truly blessed me with amazing women that I can call my teammates and coaches. They have helped me to improve myself as an athlete and as a woman of Christ.  Because of them, I have learned the indispensibility of perseverance, hard work, and what it means to endlessly love and encourage others.  I can only hope that as I continue my athletic career, I can be an example to the women of a different team."

Athletic Director, Jim Domoracki, said, "Sydney has had a stellar field hockey career. She is a great player and even better person. Her leadership, selfless attitude and Christian witness is everything we are looking for from an AACS athlete."

Head Coach, Mallory O'Hara said, "I could not be more proud of Sydney and this incredible accomplishment of signing to play D1 Field Hockey at Lehigh University. Sydney is the epitome of a coach's dream; her hard work, dedication, and pure love and passion for the game is seen in each practice and game. I have no doubt the Lord will continue to use and grow Sydney as she continues to use her gift to play ALL FOR HIM."
