The AACS boys varsity baseball team defeated Severn School 7-5 on Tuesday, April 3. Senior Kyler Wilson drove in the go-ahead run with two outs and two strikes in the top of the 7th. Senior Josh Murray came up with a key RBI which drove Wilson in. Starting junior pitcher Andrew Sowinski struck out 7 batters while twin brother, Matt Sowinski, came on in relief during the 5th inning to earn the win for the Eagles.
"I went up there with the mentality that, at 3-2, I was not going to strike out," Wilson said. "Coach talked about focusing and I drew a little dot on the handle of my bat to look at and relax. It is good to know that we can do this."
The Eagles improve to 1-1 in the MIAA B Conference. The team will host Glenelg on Thursday at 4:00 PM at Joe Cannon Stadium.
