AACS Athletics Summer Recap

Over the summer, our teams have been busy putting in extra work in the off-season.

Girls Soccer went to Ocean City, MD and played in the Sand Duels Beach Soccer Tournament.  They also participated in the Anne Arundel Community College 7v7 league throughout all of June and July where they played many public school teams in the county.

 

Field Hockey participated in the Anne Arundel County High School summer league in which they played against many public schools and a few private schools in county.  They also ran through a mini camp at the end of July.

Boys Basketball held their 10th annual summer league with teams both private and public school teams throughout Maryland.  This summer, the boys won the summer league championship.  In June, they travelled to Chicago for the 12th year in a row where they explored and played in the Hoop Mountain June Shootout.

 

The Cheerleading team helped host a summer camp for 1st-8th graders.  During the camp, the cheerleading team helped teach sideline cheers, jumps, basic stunts and tumbling, and what it means to be a Christian cheerleader.

Boys Lacrosse had many players playing club ball for the Sidewinders and the Zingos.

 

Girls Basketball hosted open gyms and held lead a summer camp for 3rd-9th graders.

For the third year in a row, boys soccer held pickup games 3 days a week for middle schoolers, high schoolers, and even alumni.  The pickup sessions frequently draw over 50 people.

The Boys and Girls Cross Country teams held a summer series in which they invited local public schools to run with them.  This series has been used as an outreach to public schools in the area to show the love and encouragement of Christ.

Volleyball has had practices throughout the summer along with playing in the Maryland Juniors varsity summer league.  They also ran a few clinics for the middle school team along with helping run a summer camp.
