Career Highlights for Cortnie Higgins Allen '04

Cortnie was a five year varsity softball and soccer player at AACS. She was a member of the inaugural softball team at AACS. Her dominant pitching helped put AACS softball on the map. She inspired her softball teammates with her tireless work ethic and fearless approach to the game, leading the team to four consecutive winning seasons. Though the softball team was not part of a conference during her years at AACS, Cortnie was considered one of the top pitchers in Anne Arundel County throughout her high school career. In soccer, Cortnie played goalie, starting for three years and was a key player on a tough defense that helped AACS win five consecutive conference titles.  She was named to the All Conference team multiple times. In one championship game that ended in a shootout, Cortnie made a save on a penalty kick, and then scored on a penalty kick on the next play to help secure the victory. Cortnie was able to demonstrate her faith through her passion for the game, competitive spirit and love for her teammates and coaches.
